John is an engineer and thought leader linking design, construction, digital innovation, and education, acting as a catalyst for change and innovation. Over 38 years he has led projects and offices for consultants and contractors in the UK, US, India, and China, during technical and strategic leadership roles at Arup, Atkins, and Laing O’Rourke.

Since 2020 his portfolio of work includes Chief Engineer at McGee, Digital Consultant at Priestland Consulting and Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor at the University of Hertfordshire. His key focus is how design, construction and digital tools can be integrated to deliver better outcomes, with an increasing focus on net-zero.

John has delivered major projects in sectors including aviation, rail, nuclear, water, offices, stadia, and public buildings. With experience including Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), innovation strategy and digital transformation, he brings together the diverse technical and leadership skills needed for multidisciplinary design, construction, and assurance.
